Richard produces and presents Film Scores, a weekly program on 3MBS FM which features reviews of current film releases, interviews and film music. 

He is also a film critic for Australian Book Review Arts Section. He has a long association with Melbourne screen culture. He has been State Manager of the Australian Film and Television and Radio School and Manager of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image Film Collection, and former film critic  for The Lowdown Under.

He also serves on jury panels and hosts Q&As for film screenings.
